I am new to E4SS. I want to use E4SS to develop converged applications that will run on OCCAS 4.0. The documentation for E4SS mentioned that sip servet apps marked as "distributable" will result in a run time exception since non serializable _object_s are stored in the SipApplicationSession. Can I get some confirmation that E4SS can or cannot be used when the application is intended to be deployed in a clustered and replicated environment?

Unfortunately the current version of E4SS cannot be used in a clustered environment like an OCCAS cluster, which requires session attributes to be serializable. We recognize this as a significant limitation, which we plan to address in the coming months.
