I filed a Feature Request for this issue. Does Eric's suggestion unblock you? If so, we will probably defer this to the next release.

It works fine!

Now, I can send UPDATE requests and receive responses.

When is planned next release of eCharts?

Glad that Eric's workaround did the trick.

We don't have a date scheduled for the next release, as we are in the planning stages now.

Sourceforge tracker ID 2941175 has been fixed on the svn trunk. Requests (including UPDATE) may be sent and received once an early dialog has been established.
